We not only poses latest state of the art thermal spraying systems,
we have many testing and measuring equipment to ensure full quality control in house.

Introduction of air flow sifter

Introduction of air flow sifter

At Plasma Giken, you find equipment uncommon at other facilities and one is air flow sifter. This equipment classifies fine powders suitable tobe used for thermal spraying like avoiding uneven sized powder lumps and those unfitting to be used for thermal spraying to accomplish high quality products.

By using this air flow sifter, prior to thermal spraying, you are assured to have high quality thermal spraying powders. This will enable you to have high quality thermal spray finish on the substrate.

Using robots and dedicated lines to accomplish uniform quality

Using robots and dedicated lines to accomplish uniform quality

At Plasma Giken, our engineers will not manually thermal spray, everything is programmed and done automatically to ensure high and uniform quality.

Depending on product shape and thermal spray, dedicate lines are incorporated and on as needed basis will introduce robots to decrease human errors to minimum and to assure uniform quality and reduce cost at the same time.

Differential Pulse Voltammetry DPV-2000

Differential Pulse Voltammetry DPV-2000

Differential Pulse Voltammetry developed by National Research Council of Canada's DPV-2000 was first introduced at Plasma Giken in Japan. This instrument is capable of measuring flying particle's speed, temperature as well as particle diameter while thermal spraying. With this, we are able to monitor thermal spray gun's various conditions or gun's abnormalities enabling satisfactory conditions for thermal spray to ensure high quality coating film.

Optical focus laser microscope

Optical focus laser microscope

By using laser microscope, you are able to observe the blast surface and thermal sprayed surface as well as to analyze them.

With 3D analysis of blast surface, you are able to control the blazing conditions by knowing substrate material and its hardness. By knowing, you are able to select blast parameters which is the pre-treatment, thus getting the blast conditions for you to attain firm adhesion.

Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)

Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)

By using the scanning electron microscope thermal sprayed coating film molecules and structure as well as condition of coating boundaries can be observed which are important properties of thermal coating film.

Furthermore by x-ray, you are able to structure analysis and check for impurities and pinpoint foreign particles. By observing micron level of thermal sprayed coatings, quality improving is possible.

Cross-section Polisher (CP)

Cross-section Polisher (CP)

After argon ion beam is fired to the sample and etched, you have process stress free cross sectional samples. At Plasma Giken, we use this method for samples with mixed hardness material, fragile samples with low hardness values to observe their cross sections. With this instrument, accurate study of cross sections were made possible.

Particle Size Distribution Measuring Instrument

Particle Size Distribution Measuring Instrument

This laser diffraction measuring instrument is capable of measuring particle distribution of powders accurately. For thermal spray and cold spray, particle size distribution of powders is a very important factor to control rate of coating as well as getting good coating characteristics. We measure all powder material and data log.

Tensile Strength Tester

Check the bonding strength of substrate and thermal sprayed coating film. We use this tester to confirm our quality performance of thermal sprayed coating is high.
